METHOD FOR PACKET AGGREGATION IN POWER LINE COMMUNICATION NETWORK AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

A packet aggregation method and apparatus in a PLC(Power Line Communication) network are provided to enhance the transmission efficiency of a channel and guarantee QoS(Quality of Service) in comparison with a general packet aggregation method. A channel estimation is performed to recognize a channel situation at a physical level(S100). It is checked whether a channel situation is good(S110). When the channel situation is good, it is checked whether to apply a packet aggregation according to application characteristics at an application level(S120). When a type of data to be transmitted is a class A type, packet aggregation is performed(S130) and data is transmitted(S140).
