An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to detect an error of an inverter by determining presence of an error of an inverter according to error status information of a backlight unit and power on/off of the inverter. A backlight unit(20) emits light to an LCD panel(10). An inverter unit(30) drives the backlight unit. A system unit(60) drives and controls the inverter. A status information setting unit(40) sets status information on whether the backlight unit is normal or abnormal according to an output voltage fed back from the backlight unit. An error detection unit(50) outputs an error determining signal of the inverter to the system unit on the basis of a power on/off control signal of the inverter unit applied from the system unit, and the status information of the status information setting unit. |
