Disclosed is a brush-hair seal for sealing a rotor against a enclosure having a bore for the rotor to extend therethrough and comprising a front plate and a bearing plate affixed thereto and between which a multitude of hair is maintained in such a way that their free ends emerge above the bearing plate. In order to simplify the manufacture, the front plate and the bearing plate are connected via a sealing chamber.
