<p>A device and a method for updating software of a system are provided to minimize time required for updating the software and update the software of all service cards through one update process in a telecommunication system by integrating the process for updating the software of the service cards. The first card(100) obtains more than one type of a software file from a file server through the network and transmits an update command message according to type information of the cards included in the inputted update command if an update command is received from an operator. The first card transfers the software file according to the type of the second card if a file request is received from the second card. The second card(200) requests the file and processes the update process according to the received software file if the update command message is received from the first card. The update command includes at least one of card ID information, card type information, self-ID information, slot ID information, or execution time information.</p> |
