<p>An apparatus and a method for checking a current time in a mobile terminal are provided to enable a mobile terminal, which is not available for communication with a base station, to receive a satellite signal to acquire a satellite standard time. A GPS module(204) receives a satellite signal to check a satellite standard time. A memory unit(202) stores a time difference table including time different information between an area serving as a reference of the satellite standard time and an area where a mobile terminal is located. When the mobile terminal is not available for connection to a base station, a controller(200) operates the GPS module and receives a satellite signal to check a local time.</p> |
