A method for manufacturing a light emitting diode and a light emitting diode are provided to improve the life time and reliability of the light emitting diode by removing water included in an organic material on a substrate. A method for manufacturing a light emitting diode includes the steps of: forming a plurality of devices on a first substrate(S402); forming a transparent organic material on a second substrate(S404); forming a sealant on the circumference of the first substrate or the second substrate(S406); and arranging the first substrate and the second substrate to face each other and adhering the first and second substrates(S408). In the second step, the organic material is applied to the whole surface of the second substrate or the rest area except the area where the sealant is formed.
