An aqueous emulsion for a vibration damping material is provided to improve the characteristics, such as drying characteristics, of a coating film formed as a vibration damping material, to inhibit cracking or expansion on the surface of the coating film, and to improve the vibration damping effect. An aqueous emulsion for a vibration damping material comprises particles having a core portion formed of an acrylic copolymer(A) and a shell portion formed of an acrylic copolymer(B) and surrounding the core portion, wherein the acrylic copolymer(B) has a glass transition temperature of -9 deg.C or higher, of which glass transition temperature also differs from the glass transition temperature of the acrylic copolymer(A) by at least 20 deg.C, and the acrylic polymer(A) and the acrylic copolymer(B) are used in a weight ratio of 3:7-5:5. |
