A method and an apparatus for controlling strength of an incoming call notification in a mobile terminal are provided to allow a user to recognize an incoming call by controlling the sound size of incoming call or strength of vibration according to a movement degree of a user. A sensor unit(106) calculates movement variation data corresponding to a movement degree excluding vibration of a motor in a mobile terminal. A controller(100) determines an incoming call or/and vibration value by using acceleration data of the movement variation data received from the sensor unit(106). A vibration controller(108) generates vibration with the strength corresponding to the vibration value. A sound processing unit(104) outputs an incoming sound with the size corresponding to the incoming call value.
