A steering angle detection apparatus for a vehicle is provided to accurately transfer rotational degree of a steering shaft to a second gear by causing the second gear to be firmly engaged with a first gear. A steering angle detection apparatus for a vehicle comprises a steering column(110) rotating by an external force. A first gear(121) is fixed to the outer peripheral surface of the steering column(110). A second gear(125) rotatably engages with the first gear(121). A rotating axis(130) is fixed to the second gear(125). A support member(150) elastically supports the rotating axis(130) such that the second gear(125) engages with the first gear(121). A magnet(135) is installed at the rotating axis(130). A sensor(140) detects the position of the magnet(135) to transmit the detected position to a controller.
