FIELD: railway transport; construction and repair of tracks. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compacting of ballast by means of tie tamping machine. Proposed method of tie tamping includes operations for moving tamping tools into zone over tie to be tamped, driving tamping tools into ballast to required depth, pressing of tamping tools and releasing of tamping tools with lifting into initial position. Time from beginning of pressing to lifting of tamping tools is set preliminarily. In process of pressing, tamping tool shift is checked additionally, and releasing with lifting into initial position is carried out when one of parameters, namely, time of pressing or value of tamping tool shift reaches its final value. ^ EFFECT: reduced tie machining cycle, increased efficiency and increased compactness and stability of compaction of ballast under all ties, improved quality of track over along time of service. ^ 8 cl, 6 dwg |
