A method for storing and searching data in a mobile communication terminal is provided to display searching results whenever keypad inputs are performed by a user and select function about a sentence after creating the sentence in a standby mode, thereby enabling the user to select whether continuous search is performed and improving the convenience of a user. A method for searching data in a mobile communication terminal comprises the following steps of: simultaneously displaying keypad number, keypad text, candidate name and the number of candidates in one screen by detecting number rows formed by a keypad input when the keypad is pushed one time; displaying formed number, formed keypad text, the candidate name and the number of candidates in one screen when the keypad is pushed three times; providing a menu image related to a text input; and switching a sentence input image when the keypad is pushed predetermined times.
