Provided is a method for preparing a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of a 5-(substituted phenylalkyl)aminosalicylic acid compound which has a strong antioxidizing effect and has an excellent solubility. A method comprises the steps of reacting aminosalicylic acid and a compound of a formula II in a solvent comprising dimethylformamide and triethylamine; and dissolving the obtained one in a polar solvent such as methanol and trimethylamine and adding an organic acid salt compound drop by drop to the obtained mixture to prepare a 5-(substituted phenylalkyl)aminosalicylic acid compound, wherein R is a halogen atom, a haloalkyl group, a nitro group, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkoxy group or an amine group.
