A plasma display apparatus is provided to enhance reliability of the plasma display apparatus by preventing thermal damage to switching elements due to an unbalanced thermal condition. A plasma display apparatus includes a display panel and a data driver. The display panel includes an address electrode. The data driver supplies a data pulse which rises at first and second slopes to the address electrode during an address period. The angle of the first slope is smaller than that of the second slope, and the rising time of the first slope(d1) of the data pulse is shorter than that of the second slope(d2).
