A broadcasting signal receiving apparatus is provided to display a plurality of applications on the same screen by dividing a screen into as many regions as the number of applications and respectively displaying the applications in the divided regions. A broadcasting signal receiving apparatus includes an image signal processor(20), a broadcasting receiver(30), and a controller(50). The image signal processor processes an image signal such that an image corresponding to the image signal is displayed on a display unit of the broadcasting signal receiving apparatus. The broadcasting receiver receives and demodulates a broadcasting signal including additional information and extracts the additional information from the demodulated broadcasting signal. The controller controls the image signal processor to discriminate applications composed of multimedia data from data included in the additional information, divide a screen of the display unit into as many regions as the number of discriminated applications, and respectively display the applications in the divided regions of the screen.
