A system for searching a dictionary is provided to enable a user to easily/quickly search a word and display a search result with convenient carrying while reading printed media by organically connecting the printed media and an electronic device, which includes a computer, providing a dictionary function. A character string obtainer(11) obtains a character string to be searched by scanning the character string among contents printed in the printed media. A dictionary searching/displaying device(12) searches the contents corresponding to the obtained character string from the dictionary and displays the search result. A wireless connector(13) connects the character string obtainer and the dictionary searching/displaying device. The wireless connector wirelessly transmits the character string scanned in the character string obtainer to the dictionary searching/displaying device.
