A portable electronic apparatus having a hard disk and a method for managing the hard disk are provided to perform head parking of the hard disk before an impact of the hard disk is generated and store acceleration histories, thereby preventing the hard disk from being damaged and providing information of faults of the hard disk. A portable electronic apparatus having a hard disk and a method for managing the hard disk comprise the following steps of: sensing acceleration movement of the hard disk by an acceleration sensor(S111); detecting whether the sensed acceleration movement is maintained for a determined time period(S121); performing head parking of the hard disk when the sensed acceleration movement is maintained for the determined time period(S123); and performing head release of the hard disk when terminating the acceleration movement of the hard disk(S133).
