The case has a shelf (3) provided with a embrittlement line (17) for easily folding a plate along the line and to constitute inclined and horizontal sides. A fixing part (11) has an upper edge and a lower edge arranged to assemble with a fixing unit (23) on the inclined side and a fixing unit (25) on the horizontal side irrespective of the direction of positioning of the shelf. The stiffeners (37, 39) are assembled on the fixing part and connected to the upper and lower edges to rigidify the two sides under the action of the load of the article exposed on the shelf. An independent claim is also included for a method of mounting a reversible display case.
