A device for compressing an impinger in a vacuum cleaner is provided to prevent decrease of cleaning efficiency due to introduction of foreign substances such as dusts into a separation chamber. A device for compressing an impinger in a vacuum cleaner includes a dust collecting part(30), an upper cover(32), a case(34), and a lower cover(36). The dust collecting part sucks dusts and foreign substances. The case includes a separation chamber, and a dust collecting chamber(40). The separation chamber separates dusts and foreign substances contained in the air sucked into the case. The dust collecting chamber stores the separated dusts and foreign substances. The separation chamber and the dust collecting chamber are in communication with each other through a spiral fluid passage. A conveyance pipe(44) is vertically installed to convey the air introduced into the dust collecting chamber to the separation chamber. The device further includes an operational unit(80), a transmission unit(70), and a pressing unit(50). The operational unit is installed on a bottom of a vacuum cleaner body and has a handle to transmit an operational force to a user. The transmission unit transmits the operational force supplied through the operational unit to an inside of the dust collecting part. The pressing unit is installed inside of the dust collecting part to receive the operational force by being connected to the transmission unit and has a pressing member to press foreign materials inside of the dust collecting part.
