A dustbin and a vacuum cleaner having the same are provided to compress accumulated foreign substances at a portion of the dustbin to smoothly discharge the introduced air. A dustbin includes a main body, a case(20), a filter, a compression panel, and a driving unit. The main body has a mounting part, a through-hole part and a discharge hole part. The case is detachably installed at the mounting part, and has a suction port(22) and a discharge port. The filter is installed between the suction port and the discharge port. The compression panel is movably installed at the case to press the foreign substances accumulated in the case in one direction. The driving unit is installed between the mounting part and the case to move the compression panel. The air and foreign substances are introduced trough a connection pipe to enter the case.
