<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an alternator for vehicles wherein the amount of heat produced by a noise prevention capacitor is reduced and thus the life of the capacitor is extended. <P>SOLUTION: The alternator for vehicles includes: a case; a rotor provided in the case and fixed on a shaft; a stator provided so as to surround the rotor, in which an alternating current is produced by a rotating magnetic field from the rotor; a rectifier 14 that is provided at an end of the shaft and rectifies the above alternating current, produced in the stator, into a direct current; and the noise prevention capacitor 55 that is connected between the positive side and the negative side of the rectifier 14 and absorbs noise produced when an alternating current is rectified into a direct current at the rectifier 14. A carbon resistor 56 that suppresses a current passing through the noise prevention capacitor 55 is connected in series with the noise prevention capacitor 55. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
