<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbonization treatment apparatus safely carbonizing, sterilizing and debulking a cadaver or the like of a laboratory animal without requiring a cost and a labor and particularly capable of performing finishing detection of the carbonization treatment or adjustment of a treatment time. <P>SOLUTION: An organic substance such as the cadaver of animals and plans and extraction substance from the animals and the plants is stored in a treatment tank 2. A saturated vapor from a vapor generation device 56 can be fed into the treatment tank 2 through superheaters 67, 68 for treatment vapor as a superheated vapor. A gas of a discharge line 26 from the inside of the treatment tank 2 is condensed/liquefied by heat exchangers 76, 77 and is discharged. The carbonization treatment apparatus is provided with sensors 116, 117 for measuring turbidity or electric conductivity of a condensate by the heat exchangers 76, 77, a sensor for measuring a weight of the organic substance in the treatment tank 2 or sensors 50, 89 for measuring a temperature in the treatment tank 2 or the discharge line 26.
