<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system in which flooding is hard to occur even under a high humidity condition and a flooding testing method in a diffusion layer. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system is provided with a membrane electrode assembly, a solid polymer fuel cell having and a separator which is arranged outside the membrane electrode assembly and on which a plurality of gas passages to supply gas to an electrode containing a diffusion layer, and a gas supplying/exhausting means to supply/exhaust gas to an electrode. The gas supplying/exhausting means is provided with a gas passage switching means to switch a plurality gas passages to a penetrated type in which both of an entrance and an exit are open, or to a closed type having at least one gas passage A of which the exit is closed and at least one gas passage B of which the entrance is closed. Also here is provided a flooding testing method in a diffusion layer in which the above fuel cell system is used and a plurality of gas passages are switched from the penetrated type to the closed type and a variation of a pressure loss is measured. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
