<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diaphragm-type gas sensor which is one of diaphragm type gas sensors for measuring gas concentrations, that is superior in response speed, is manipulated easily and prevents gas-absorbing liquids from leaking from a sealing section of a base cap and an aperture of a jacket containing the gas absorptive liquid, and to provide a packing used in the diaphragm-type gas sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The diaphragm-type gas sensor comprises: a hollow cylindrical jacket 4, having a pair of electrodes and the gas-absorbing liquid 5 in its hollow section; a gas permeable diaphragm 5 fixed to the head edge of the jacket 4 so as to be watertight; and the base cap 6 for sealing the upper edge aperture of the jacket 4. The base cap 6 supports a base section of an electrode body 8, having a sensing part 7 at its head edge, such that the electrode body 8 is positioned at the center of the hollow section along the axial direction in the jacket 4, and the sensing part 7 abuts against with the gas permeable diaphragm 5. The packing 11 which is water-shedding and has air permeability in its facing direction, is interposed to seal between the upper edge plane of the aperture of the jacket 4 and the opposing plane of the base cap 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
