PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To aim at further downsizing in spite of existence of contact pieces and exclusive biasing members as against a conventional structure. SOLUTION: In the lamp socket with a socket main body 1 made of pottery, having formed an insertion hole 13 for base pins 11a of a lamp 10A to be inserted into and a parts-positioning section 15, as well as pair contact pieces 4 and biasing means 5 to be electrically connected with the base pins 11a, the socket main body 1 has stepped parts 17 provided at an underside and a plurality of engagement holes 18 provided at a lower part the periphery. It is further provided with a bottom plate 2 made of pottery capable of supporting the contact pieces 4 from under in a state mated with the stepped parts 17, and a fall-off prevention member 3 fitted with both end parts 5a in a state engaged with the corresponding engagement holes 18 for preventing the bottom plate 2 from falling off.
