PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory system in which internal setting of a memory can be changed by simple procedure and of which the circuit constitution is simple. SOLUTION: After a power source is turned on, after setting of initialization, or after return from low power standby, when an address space in which an address cone is not yet set in a memory is specified and a RD command is input, it is treated as a MRS command changing internal setting of the memory. Also setting contents are specified using a low-order code of the address code. Thereby, internal operation can be changed by only specifying the address code like normal read-out processing.
