PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-bonding conjugated fiber for an air-laid nonwoven fabric producing the air-laid nonwoven fabric having excellent air-laid properties and excellent spinnability especially from a screen, high adhesive strength and ultralow heat shrinkage percentage and good formation. SOLUTION: The heat-bonding conjugated fiber is composed of a fiber-forming resin component and a heat-bonding resin component and is characterized in that the fiber has≤10 dtex fineness or≥8 mm fiber length,≤0.65 crimp ratio/number of crimps and≥70% crimp modulus of elasticity. A method for producing the heat-bonding conjugated fiber for the air-laid nonwoven fabric is characterized as heat-treating an undrawn yarn taken off at≤1,800 m/min spinning speed at whichever higher temperature of the glass transition point of the heat-bonding resin component and the glass transition point of the fiber-forming resin component by≥10°C at 0.6-1.1 ratio at a constant length.
