<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which provides excellent display quality in a transmissive display and in a reflective display without a level difference of a liquid crystal layer. <P>SOLUTION: In a section on which no reflection electrode 132 is arranged, liquid crystal molecules 190 are arranged under the influence of an electric field between an end portion 132a of the reflection electrode 132 and a counter electrode 173. Because tilt of the liquid crystal molecules 190 is different in the section on which no reflection electrode 132 is arranged compared with that in a section on which the reflection electrode 132 is arranged and that in a transmissive display section 20, retardation imparted to light to conduct display in a reflective display section 10 and that in the transmissive display section 20 can be made equal to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
