PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize that dots of various kinds are output using the usual hardware asset or the usual software asset of image processing effectively. SOLUTION: A printer 100 is equipped with a circuit for carrying out halftone processing of six colors. The halftone processing circuits have a function of converting the sizes of dots of each color into four values and carrying out halftone processing. The printer 100 combines a dark ink halftone circuit and a light ink halftone circuit in a printing mode in which only four colors out of six colors are used. Halftone processing of dots of S size, M size, and L size is carried out in the light ink halftone circuit, and halftone processing of dots of L2 size and L3 size is carried out in the dark ink halftone circuit. Lastly, the printer 100 compounds the output results from the above halftone circuits, and converts the sizes of the dots into six values. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
