PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an edge material having a common connecting part engageable with both male connecting part and female connecting part of a floor mat. SOLUTION: This edge material is connected to a unit floor mat having the male connecting part on one side edge and having the female connecting part of a shape connectable to this male connecting part on the side edge different from the male connecting part. A shape of the common connecting part arranged in this edge material is formed in a shape engageable with both the male connecting part and the female connecting part of the unit floor mat. A downward opening cutout capable of intruding the female connecting part of the unit floor mat from the side surface direction of the edge material in the connection, is formed in an upper position than the common connecting part on a side surface forming the common connecting part. The common connecting part engages with the female connecting part by lowering the edge material on a floor surface, and then, with a unit mat by inserting the female connecting part of the unit floor mat into the cutout of the edge material.
