PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article carrying device capable of staying a specific quantity of articles in response to a state of a downstream side carrying part, by arranging and carrying the disorderly turning article in a single longitudinal row without damaging a cargo. SOLUTION: This article carrying device has an upstream side carrying part 2 having a driven roller 9 energizing the article in the direction having a course direction component and a lateral direction component turning to a side wall 1, a downstream side carrying part 3 energizing the article in the course direction, an intermediate carrying part 4 having a turntable part 14 so that a roller can changeably turn between an ordinary operation state of energizing the article in the direction having the course direction component and the lateral direction component turning to the side wall 1 and a staying operation state of energizing the article in the direction having the course direction component and the lateral direction component turning in the direction separating from the side wall 1 in response to a state of the downstream side carrying part 3, a branch area 5 branching off from the downstream side carrying part 3 and the intermediate carrying part 4 and receiving the transferred article and a return carrying part 6 returning the article to the upstream end of the upstream side carrying part 2 by receiving the article from the branch area 5.
