PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens substrate, with excellent optical properties, which can be made available by inhibiting an undesired thickness dispersion, and a method for manufacturing the lens substrate, and a permeable screen equipped with the lens substrate and a rear-type projector. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the lens substrate is to manufacture the lens substrate having numerous lens parts formed on a lens surface. In addition, the method comprises a first composition imparting process to impart a first composition with fluidity to the uneven surface of a molding die for manufacturing the lens substrate of an uneven shape corresponding with the lens surface, a hardening process to harden the first composition and thereby form a hardened part with a smaller degree of surface unevenness than the degree of unevenness of the uneven surface of the molding die for manufacturing the lens substrate, and a joint process to place sheeting constituted of a second composition on the hardened part and join the hardened part and the sheeting together.
