PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an appearance structure while preventing rainwater from staying even if a rotary damper is obliquely arranged besides exhibiting a prescribed damper function. SOLUTION: In a rotary damper, prescribed damping force is produced in a damping part V through which hydraulic fluid is allowed to pass when two oil chambers R1, R2 defined by a vane 2 oscillatably stored in a housing 1 are widened and narrowed by allowing hydraulic fluid to mutually flow in and out by rocking the vane 2. The housing 1 consists of a box part 11 which is a lower side for storing the vane 2 and a lid part 12 which is an upper side for blocking an opening end of the box part 11 through the medium of a seal member 3. The lid part 12 is coupled to the box part 11 under the utilization of a bolt, and includes a drainage passage L in an upper surface on a rear side. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
