A dosing system for powders or granular materials has a hopper feed (1) over a reciprocating slider (4) fitted with a selected size insert for the required dosing volume. The slider moves the dosed charges from the loading position to a discharge duct (8) to drop onto a dosing wheel (9) whose chambers (10) transfer the charges to a selected destination. For added throughput two inserts are fitted to the slider to operate a dual filling and discharge process. Compressed air jets enhance the dosing system.
