The capacitor has a capacitor winding (5), which is arranged in a housing, comprising conductive winding layer. The winding layers are welded with the housing in a welding area (21). The winding layers are tilted upon each other and are welded together in other welding area (71,72). The distance of later welding area to the outer surface of the housing is larger than the distance of the former welding area to the outer surface of the housing. The later welding area is arranged in an area with increased housing thickness. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing of a double layer capacitor, which involves tilting upon each other and welding together, the overlaying areas of winding layers of a capacitor winding.
