<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store the video data of an incorporated recording medium by simple processing for selecting virtually divided recording medium units without operating any complicate processing to select a file to be stored, or to divide a file of a large size in storing the video data of the incorporated media in an external storage medium. <P>SOLUTION: When the capacity of an incorporated recording medium 9 is larger than the capacity of an external recording medium, the incorporated recording medium 9 is visually divided and managed in advance just like a plurality of pieces of recording media whose capacity does not exceed the capacity of the external recording medium are present before starting recording, and video data are recorded.
