<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element having excellent optical transparency though having excellent heat resistance and light resistance. <P>SOLUTION: An objective lens OBJ as the optical element contains a thermosetting resin to be a polyorganosiloxane resin represented by general formula (1): ((R<SB>1</SB>)(R<SB>2</SB>)SiO<SB>2</SB>)m and fine particles and a refractive index difference ¾n1-n2¾ between the refractive index n1 of the thermosetting resin and the refractive index n2 of the fine particles is represented by 0≤¾n1-n2¾≤0.1.
