<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can maintain a toner amount in a developing device constant even when only low-density printing and intermittent printing are repeated and that suppresses influences of aggregated blocks of the toner on developing performance or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 is equipped with a developing device 13 which develops an electrostatic latent image formed on a photoreceptor drum based on externally acquired image data as a toner image, a toner replenishing device 15 which replenishes the developing device 13 with the toner, and a fixing device 7 which fixes the toner image onto a recording material, and the apparatus includes a print rate calculating means 9a, an accumulating means 9b, a comparing means 9c and an operation controlling means 9d. The print rate calculating means 9a calculates a print rate of image data by each recording material where a toner image is to be fixed. The accumulating means 9b accumulates the print rates. The comparing means 9c compares the cumulative print rate accumulated by the accumulating means 9b to a first print rate. The operation controlling means 9d stops the toner replenishing operation of the toner replenishing device 15 on the developing device 13 when the cumulative print rate is not more than the first print rate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
