<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit using a brushless motor of inverter drive type for driving an electric vehicle, capable of reducing cost of a rotational angle position detector to be primarily doubled and properly determining failure during detection of a rotational angle position. <P>SOLUTION: An actual rotational angle position signal of the brushless motor using the rotational angle position detector is compared with an estimated rotational position signal from a so-called sensorless controller to be provided in case of failure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
