PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin, compact seismic sensor capable of highly accurately and highly sensitively detecting seismic waves. SOLUTION: The pendulum type seismic sensor is provided with at least n-pieces of pendulums having different natural frequencies and installed in a casing and n-pieces of detecting means installed at locations in the casing correspondingly to the n-pieces of pendulums and detects each rotational position or angle of the n-pieces of pendulums generated by seismic waves by the n-pieces of pendulums and the n-pieces of detecting means installed at locations in the casing correspondingly to the n-pieces of pendulums. In the pendulum type seismic sensor, the natural frequencies of the n-pieces of pendulums are set between 0.5-12 Hz. fom<fom+1, and the difference between fom+1 and fom is 1 Hz or greater (wherein, the natural frequency of the m-th pendulum is fom (wherein, 1≤m<n); and the natural frequency of the (m+1)-th pendulum is fom+1).
