PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent hang-up while connecting a large-capacity external storage device to a PC (Personal Computer) in power supply. SOLUTION: This external equipment controller 100 has: a flag storage means 102 storing a flag showing that a predetermined specific instruction is supplied from the computer device; an error message output means 103 outputting an error message to the computer device when a capacity request instruction requesting supply of a value showing storage capacity is supplied from the computer device when the flag is stored in the flag storage means 102; a detection means 104 detecting that a reset instruction instructing a reset of a bus is supplied from the computer device; and a flag erasure means 105 erasing the flag stored in the flag storage means 102 when it is detected that the reset instruction is supplied by the detection means 104.
