PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the bulk recovery of a nonwoven fabric, enabling easy bulk-recovery operation with a simple apparatus while consuming reduced amount of energy for increasing the bulk of the nonwoven fabric. SOLUTION: The method for the bulk recovery of a nonwoven fabric comprises the delivery of a non-woven fabric 10 from a stock nonwoven fabric 101 wound in the form of a roll, and the irradiation of the nonwoven fabric 10 with far infrared ray in a state placing a protecting plate 3 made of a far infrared transmitting material between the far infrared source and the nonwoven fabric 10 to generate heat in the nonwoven fabric 10 and increase the bulk of the fabric.
