An organic light emitting device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prolong the life span of the light emitting device by effectively blocking moistures and oxygen from outside and absorbing the gas generated from transparent sealant film. An organic light emitting device includes a substrate(10), an organic light emitting unit(12), a sealing substrate(11), a transparent moisture-absorbing film(13), and a transparent sealant film(16). The organic light emitting unit includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and an organic film, which is applied between the first and second electrodes. The sealing substrate is attached to the substrate with the organic light emitting unit between the substrates. The transparent moisture-absorbing film is arranged in a space between the substrate and the sealing substrate. The transparent moisture-absorbing film is made of a metal oxide. The transparent sealant film bonds the substrate to the sealing substrate.
