Method for aligning equipment tilting on a lifting and lowering structure of a machine comprises connecting both hydraulic connections of a tilting cylinder (7) with a hydraulic pump (19) via a switching valve after actuating a triggering element and moving the tilting cylinder into the neutral position of the equipment. An independent claim is also included for a machine with a lifting structure and equipment tilting on a lifting and lowering structure of the machine. Preferred Features: The position of the tilting cylinder is determined and monitored by the control device of the switching valve. When the neutral position of the tilting cylinder is reached the control device switches the switching valve into a position, in which both hydraulic connections of the cylinder are blocked by the hydraulic pump.
