The arrangement and method are for self-calibration of a stereo camera and involve the measurement of position, side and depth of an object in a three-dimensional world with the aid of two cameras, which are continuously calibrated. A picture handling method is used for improvement in a picture handling processor of camera information on calculation of object position, height, side and depth. Continuous calibration permits both an improvement in position accuracy in height, side and depth and simpllification of the installation, permitting mechanical drive and ageing. Calibration is carried out for position fault, rotation fault, and scaling fault of the three-dimensional object view. Continuously to improve the stereo camera fault in position, rotation and scaling involves mirroring a known virtual calibration scene containing disparity information and with conductor of received picture information from two stereo cameras and conformity of a picture handling method in a picture processor, in order to determine an improvement matrix for each individual stereo camera. |
