PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly tooth polishing instrument excellent in operability, for highly efficiently removing stains such as yellowing and tar stuck to tooth surfaces that are difficult to be removed by a normal toothbrush. SOLUTION: The tooth polishing instrument is composed of a holding part, a support part extended from the holding part and a tooth polishing member attached to the support part. The tooth polishing member is composed of compressed melamine foam whose ratio of the number of partition walls of a surface in parallel with a polishing surface and the number of the partition walls of the surface in a direction vertical to the polishing surface is 1/3 to 1/5.
