PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive sheet stack device superior in stacking quality, by increasing a stack quantity, without requiring a large motor. SOLUTION: When performing stapling (postprocessing), a sheet P ejected from an ejecting roller (a sheet ejecting means) 7 is received by a jogger and a sheet support 46 of a sheet support means 40. The stapling is performed after registering by the jogger by returning to a postprocessing position by contacting a return roller 21. Then, the sheet support means composed of a pantograph mechanism is lowered in a state of being placed on the sheet support by pushing out by a sheet pushing-out means 35.
