PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe conveyor and its twist monitoring method capable of monitoring twist of a band belt by a relatively simple mechanism. SOLUTION: The band belt 10 is stretched between a drive roller 2 and a driven roller 3 so as to be endlessly circulated. On a forward running path in the upper side between the rollers 2, 3 and a backward running path in the lower side between the rollers 2, 3, the band belt 10 is rounded by a rounding roller to have a pipe shape, and is guided and run by a shape retaining roller 4 while maintaining the pipe shape. A conveyed object M is input on the forward running path and discharged to a load receiving hopper in the vicinity of the drive roller 2. Two non-contact type sensors 11, 12 are arranged so as to face the outer periphery of the pipe-shaped band belt 10.
