PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent wrinkles etc. and improve quality of a package 7, in a yarn winding-up device applying tension to fed yarn 4 by a tension applying device 30 and winding up the yarn 4 around a take-up tube 6 while traversing the yarn 4 by a traverse motion 5 to form the package 7. SOLUTION: In particular, in precision winding of a constant wind ratio, in synchronous with change of a lead angleθdue to increase in the diameter of a yarn layer 7, tension applied by the tension applying device 30 is changed. Specifically, in accordance with decrease in the lead angleθcalculated by a lead angle calculating means 75, a tension applying control means 77 performs control to decrease the tension to be applied.
