The mechanism has an actuating bar operated by a push button (9) against a spring force of a spring. A bar segment (8) of the bar is supported in a pipe segment (4) of a hand brake lever by a guide bush (15), where the bar segment receives the push button. The guide bush comprises a connection segment that is inserted in an opening of the pipe segment, and a guiding segment (17) for guiding the bar segment in a play-free manner.
