<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system for a vehicle, which displays a road image containing a large volume of information, while restraining a volume of a map data. <P>SOLUTION: Cameras A7, B8 photograph a road face of a road under travel of the vehicle, and a road information detecting means 21 detects road information (road width, road sign) as to the road under the travel of the vehicle, based on the photographed image. A road image display control means 24 adds a road face display image prepared based on the detected road information, to the road image prepared based on the road data stored in a map data storage device 2 to be displayed. The road image containing the large volume of information is displayed thereby, while restraining the volume of the map data, and times and labors for inputting the road information is thereby reduced on a user side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
